Colonial Williamsburg

For a close look at America’s colonial and revolutionary periods, this package provides an outstanding learning experience. With breakfast, lunch and dinner included, your trip begins with a guided tour of Jamestown Settlement, a re-creation of the first permanent English settlement in America, complete with authentically costumed interpreters. On display are full-scale reproductions of James Fort, Powhatan Indian Village and the 18th-century sailing ships, the Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery. At the Yorktown Victory Center, students step back into the 1780s for a close look at the sequence of historic events that shaped our nation, from the beginning of America’s quest for independence to the establishment of the Constitution. This exciting outdoor living-history museum recounts the story of the last major conflict of the Revolutionary War and depicts family living, farming methods, military life and medical treatment of the 18th century. As our nation’s first outdoor history museum, Colonial Williamsburg showcases the social, economic and political living of 18th-century colonists. Students interact with authentically clad townspeople and tradesmen while exploring the beautifully restored buildings and grounds. Add Busch Gardens, an impressive theme park that combines old-world Europe with a dazzling assortment of rides, shows, exhibits and shops, for a field trip your students will never forget. Tour managers are available at an additional charge. Consider a visit to the new Presidents Park to complete your experience.
